CHICAGO--Wheat fell on speculation that rain forecasts for the next two weeks will improve the condition of the hard-red winter crop in the U.S. southern Great Plains.
One weather model shows rain falling in parts of the central and southern Plains next weekend, according to private forecaster DTN. That would improve cryops that have received little to no precipitation in the past 90 days, according to the National Weather Service. Still, another weather model shows the rain missing the driest parts of the southern Plains.
