Malaysia’s palm oil stocks rose to a 19-month high at the end of October, while production was flat and exports were slightly lower, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board said Monday.
Crude palm oil production fell just 0.2%, and palm oil exports fell 1.4% from a month earlier when exports surged after Malaysia scrapped an export duty to boost demand.
Palm oil exports have been under pressure due to expectations for an abundant soybean crop this year, which have made soybean oil prices attractive. Supply of other oilseeds has also been healthy.
