JO_GR110 Portland, OR Thr Jan 11 2007 USDA Market News Portland Daily Grain Report Bids as of 9:30 a.m.; Subject to change Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during January by rail or barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for 14 percent protein dark northern spring wheat were split first and last half January delivery. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other bids are for full January delivery. March wheat futures in midmorning trading were sharply higher by 11- 1/2 to 12 cents per bushel compared to Wednesdays closes. Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for January Portland delivery were not well tested in early trading as some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for January Portland delivery were not fully established in early trading but were indicated as 12 to 14 cents per bushel higher than Wednesdays noon bids in lining up with the sharply higher Kansas City March wheat futures. Bids for 14 percent protein us 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for January Portland delivery were indicated as 8 to 16 cents per bushel higher in response to sharply higher Minneapolis March spring wheat futures. Bids for US 2 barley were not well tested. Most exporters were not issuing bids for January delivery. Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn trended 31-1/4 to 32-1/2 cents per cwt higher than Wednesdays noon bids in response to sharply higher Chicago March corn futures in early trading.
