GX_GR113 Springfield, IL Tue Mar 17, 2009 USDA-IL Dept of Ag Market News Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon, with soybeans and wheat higher and corn slightly lower. Higher soybean prices were supported by good export interest, with wheat prices moving up on dry weather concerns in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Cash grain movement slowed down on Tuesday with basis mostly steady for soybeans and steady to weak for corn. In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 1 cent lower at 3.60-3.70. Soybean bids were 3 to 4 cents higher at 8.97-9.13. In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were mixed at 3.65-3.73. Soybean bids were mostly 2 cents higher at 8.94-9.10. In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 1 to 3 cents lower at 3.63-3.82. Soybean bids were steady to 1 cent higher at 9.01-9.15. Wheat bids were 4 to 9 cents higher at 4.50-4.73. Milo bids were 1 cent lower at 2.98-3.36.
