Portland Daily Grain Report
Bids as of 11:30 a.m.;   Subject to change

   Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during March by rail or
barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars
per cwt.  Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as
specified.  All other wheat and barley bids are for full March delivery.
Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

   May wheat futures closed one cent lower in Chicago, one cent higher in
Kansas City, and 3-1/2 cents higher in Minneapolis compared with
Fridays closes.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent
protein, for March delivery trended steady compared to Fridays noon
bids.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for March
delivery were one cent per bushel higher in lining up with the higher
Kansas City May wheat futures.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for
March delivery.

   Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for March
delivery trended mixed, from two cents lower to three cents higher
compared with Fridays noon bids.  Higher Minneapolis May wheat futures
were supportive to bids but some exporters lowered their basis, weighing
on bids.

   Bids for US 2 barley for March delivery were not fully established
as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

   Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn were 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 cents per bushel lower
than Fridays noon bids in response to the slightly lower Chicago May
corn futures close.
